Objectives:
1) Increase awareness of the Healthy Families BC Shopping Sense initiative.
2) Drive traffic to the Shopping Sense section of the Healthy Families BC website.
Approach:
Healthy Families BC invited mommy bloggers to a ‘live’ grocery store tour based on the Healthy Families BC, Shopping Sense web resource, led by Global TVs, Melodie Yong.
Bloggers were asked to document the tour with photos & video and share the content with their readers through social media platforms.
Results:
The event was successful as 17 bloggers turned out on a rainy Vancouver morning for the tour. 15 of these bloggers made positive, educational social media posts encouraging their readers to visit the Shopping Sense tool. They also held contests on their social media platforms where entry depended on posting or tweeting about the tool for a chance to win a Safeway gift certificate. The initiative increased awareness of Shopping Sense and drove traffic to the site.
